Jorden Berberian
Hello, my name is

I’m a passionate educator and counselor with six years of experience shaping young minds and fostering positive growth—now transitioning from Little Rock to the vibrant city of Chicago! I'm a data-driven educator who’s not just about hitting the numbers, but about truly connecting with students and creating a classroom vibe where learning feels exciting, not like a chore. My secret? It’s all about building relationships and fostering an environment where every student feels seen, heard, and motivated to be their best selves.
When I’m not in the classroom, I can usually be found fundraising for Student Council, planning the homecoming dance, participating in pep rallies, or cheering on the school as a cheer sponsor—because let’s face it, I’m all about getting involved and making things happen! I’m excited to bring my experience, energy, and a sprinkle of humor to a new school in Chicago, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Don't worry, you're not seeing double! I've spent the last several school years teaching with my identical twin (she's art, I'm social studies). It's been so fun working together and sharing students, but most importantly, she has inspired me to get CREATIVE with my lessons! Who says history has to be boring? Not in my class.

From coaching the freshman cheerleading squad to sponsoring the Dungeons & Dragons club, I have always believed that the best way to make an impact in the classroom is to get involved outside of it! Beyond showing up to choir concerts, theatre performances and ball games, I try to take on clubs to become a part of the school culture. Here are a few of the extracurriculars I've taken on over the years:

College Readiness Leadership Program (CRLP)

1.5 hours weekly of supplemental tutoring, character development, and ACT preparation
-

Student Council
-
Chartered and sponsored the Student Council at LISA Academy after seeing a need for student voice
-
Raised thousands of dollars through fundraising efforts
-
Donated money to other school clubs such as art club and soccer
-
Planned a homecoming dance

I love to think out of the box and put the FUN in fundraising. In this image, you can see the entrance to Haunted Hallways, an event hosted by the Student Council that I sponsor. At this event, we took a budget of $0, hand-me-down Halloween decor, some elbow grease, and creativity and turned it into nearly $800 while opening a fun event to families and the community. I received compliments on this event from students, parents, and staff for the rest of the school year! We were able to donate the proceeds from this fun event to other clubs within the school, including the incredible art club who helped in the creation of handmade props for the event.
In addition to helping students with fundraising, organizing (and supervising) events, and cultivating leadership skills, I hold high standards for my club members, who I encourage to be role models as well as leaders within the school. In the video to the left, Student Council promotes a drug-free lifestyle during Red Ribbon Week, where we also assisted in hosting the pep rally.
