COUNSELOR

  • Recently graduated with a masters degree in School Counseling from Arkansas State University

    • Concentration in Special Populations​

    • Graduated with a 4.0 GPA

    • I've passed the Illinois School Counseling exam, the PRAXIS 5422, & my university's comprehensive exam to earn licensure in AR and IL

  • Completed over 700 hours of school counseling internship hours (over half of which was spent providing direct services)

  • Experienced in K-12 Counseling thanks to interning at an elementary, middle, and high school. 

  • While an intern, I filled in for my school's counselor while she was on maternity leave.  With off-site supervision, I took on all responsibilities as school counselor for a quarter, while maintaining my teaching responsibilities. This includes:​​

    • Individual counseling​

    • Program development

    • 7-8 grade Character Education classes

    • Small groups

    • Crisis management & prevention

  • I have served as the teacher advocate for students on the school's PBIS committee

  • Skilled at implementing Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

  • Planned and implemented several school-wide initiatives, such as Red Ribbon Week

Something that I implemented during my internship was a weekly newsletter to help students keep up with deadlines, scholarship opportunities, shoutouts, and more!
