My teaching style is all about hands-on, activity-based learning that brings history to life in a fun and engaging way. I use collaborative projects, games, gallery walks, jigsaws, and even escape rooms to keep students active and invested in the content. I make history approachable by framing it as "yesterday's hottest gossip," helping students see the relevance and excitement in what might otherwise feel like distant events. And the best part? My approach is data-proven to be effective, showing that students thrive when learning is interactive and connected to their world.

A class period with Mrs. Berb sometimes includes making models of neurons out of candy! Learning can be fun and yummy!

Luckily for me, scores have been on my
side when it comes to proving efficacy! As seen in the chart above, I usually outperform peer teachers on Common Formative Assessments! I make sure to incorporate AVID & WICOR strategies to drive engagement and performance in my class, to support test scores in history and beyond- I like to call my class
English Support!

The thing that comes the most naturally to me as an educator is building strong relationships and creating a classroom environment that promotes creativity, excitement, and wonder. It is a lot easier to be a "favorite teacher" when students aren't struggling to stay awake through a lecture. We have fun in my class!
After studying neuroscience and the brain, these psychology students reviewed material through a BRAIN HAT! That's one way to keep the material "fresh on your mind!"
